The Meningitis Trust has this year been chosen as the Charity of the Year at the Ulster Grand Prix This is fantastic news for the charity but they need our help! We are looking for a significant number of volunteers to help us over the course of the event. Please find details of the event and also the roles of the volunteers we are looking for. If you can help us that would be absolutely wonderful. Please do let me know if there is any further information that I can provide for you.
ULSTER GRAND PRIX – CAN YOU HELP?
August 14th – 17th 2013
The Ulster Grand Prix (Dundrod) is the worlds fastest motorbike road race, is 16.5 mile in length, the atmosphere is electric and a great day out.
We are looking for a minimum of 35 volunteers to assist our team on each of the days (12th -17th August) so you can understand the challenge ahead of us. This event is huge as I am sure you are aware but please feel free to take a look at the website www.ulstergrandprix.net
There are many different roles that we need to cover and these include;
•Help with collections around the venue
•Collection Team Leaders
•Help to man their awareness stand
•Collect signatures for the introduction of the Meningitis B Vaccine
•Sell Raffle Tickets
•General event support volunteers
•Mascot volunteers (willing to wear the mascot costume!)
•Children’s entertainers (face painting, magician, balloon modelling etc.)
The times volunteers are required are:
14th August: 13.30 – 21.30 15th August: 10.30 – 20.30
16th August: 13.00 – 21.30 17th August: 8.00 – 20.30
Half or full day shifts are available to suit individuals
Meningitis can strike in an instant and kill within four hours, it does not discriminate, it can affect anyone of any age, sex or race. The Meningitis Trust is dedicated to supporting those affected and raising awareness of this devastating disease so that lives are saved.
Please could you promote this for us wherever possible and or circulate this email amongst your staff asking if they would be willing to help us? If anyone is interested in joining us at this event please in the first instance can they let us know (including a contact phone number) by emailing me at davehancock1@supanet.com or joannec@meningitis-trust.org and then a member of our volunteer team will be in touch by phone to discuss this further in relation to which day suits them best, times available and preferred roles etc.
As mentioned we are looking for a high number of volunteers some with specific skills so if you can circulate this to anyone you think could be interested in supporting us I really would appreciate it. It really will be a fantastic day out and a chance to visit a great event FREE OF CHARGE!
Any questions please do not hesitate to ask
Many thanks and with best wishes
