MOT Scam 22nd June 2013 nidirect Government services, the official government website for Northern Ireland citizens, is urging people to be alert to an unofficial MOT booking website.
The alert concerns a potential scam website claiming to be the Driver & Vehicle Agency’s (DVA) MOT online booking facility.
The unofficial site’s address is nidirect-gov.co.uk, which is very similar to the official government website nidirect.gov.uk.
Number of complaints
DVA (Driver Vehicle Agency) says it has received a number of complaints from people who have paid their fee for booking an MOT test online using the unofficial site. However, they have not received an appointment date.

nidirect officials have alerted Trading Standards Service to the potential scam and are asking everyone to be vigilant.
The correct link for booking your MOT online can be found on the indirect website – How do I book an MOT/ vehicle test appointment? (motoring section)
nidirect say, “If you think you have used this (unofficial) website, you can report it to Trading Standards by contacting their Consumerline service.
