Motorcycling Ireland Statement
regarding date clash between proposed Cahir Road Races
and Adelaide Masters Finale on October 6th/7th
Motorcycling Ireland’s Short Circuit Committee, which governs circuit racing in the Republic of Ireland, was surprised to read announcements from the promoters of a new Road Race in Cahir, Co. Tipperary, scheduled for October 6th & 7th 2012, which is the same weekend as the televised Adelaide Masters Series Finale & final round of the ISB Championship in Mondello Park.
The Short Circuit Committee has received categorical assurances from (Motorcycling Ireland President) Sean Bisset on behalf of Motorcycling Ireland, that the proposed Cahir event has not yet been sanctioned by Motorcycling Ireland and if the proposed event does eventually receive approval, it will not run on the same weekend as the Adelaide Masters Series Finale, which would be detrimental to both events.
