Adelaide Masters almost ready to return to action Its seems a very long time since the first event of the 2013 Adelaide Masters Series back in April but Ireland's biggest Motorcycle Racing Series is almost ready to burst back into action with its next event scheduled for Mondello Park on the weekend of June 22nd and 23rd. Backed by Motorcycle Insurance Specialists, Adelaide Insurance Services the series got off to a flying start with its opening three rounds in the first week of April. A very strong field was assembled despite the early start to the championship particularly in the Supersport class where the competition was particularly tight. Derek Sheils was the man on form in the Superbike class as he took three relatively easy wins on his CD Racing machinery. Mark Glasgow was the other big points scorer as some of the more fancied runners, such as Marshall Neill and Alan Bonner, did not have the best of days. Sheils did not prove as dominant in Supersport where the battles were between Richie Ryan and Neill. These two shared the wins to end up first and second in the points while pre-race favourite Carl Phillips had an off day to end up only third in the points. Rounds four, five and six will be contested over the two days of the next event and as usual the riders will be battling for a major prize fund as well as the championship. Races one and two will have a sizeable fund on offer but the third race will be the one they all want to win as the money on offer to the winner almost triples. Race one for each class takes place on Saturday with races two and three scheduled for Sunday. The featured Supersport and Superbike races will form the main part of the day with these races scheduled to take place between 14:00 and 16:30. Additional entertainment will be provided off track by the second round of the Stunt Ireland Irish Stunt Riding Championship with viewing of this additional event included in the great value for money admission fee of just €10.00. Information on the Adelaide Masters Series is now available on a dedicated championship web site www.adelaidemasters.ie

Adelaide Masters Season to reach an exciting conclusion at Mondello Park Another fantastic season of Motorcycle Racing will come to its conclusion at Mondello Park on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of October, with the finale of the Adelaide Masters Series, Ireland’s top Short Circuit Motorcycle Racing Championship. The fourteen race series, which is backed by Motorcycle Insurance Specialist Adelaide Insurance Services, will have its final three races over two days, on the International circuit layout, with the bulk of the racing action taking place on the Sunday. The headlining Superbike Class is all but sown up by Dubliner Derek Sheils, who only needs to finish in the points in Saturday’s opening race to clinch his first Adelaide Masters title, but the Supersport class will go right down to the wire. The smaller engined Supersport machines have provided the greatest excitement over the course of the season with full grids and a very competitive field at all four previous events. Having missed the first three races of the season, David Haire has amazingly dragged himself back into championship contention and heads into the final event of the year tied for the lead with Kilkenny's Richie Ryan. Haires' fellow Ulstermen Carl Phillips, Luke Johnston and Jamie Patterson are also in contention for the championship win, but realistically the winner should come from the top three of Ryan, Haire and Phillips. The Superbike series has just two contenders with Derek Sheils leading the way from Kilkenny's Damien Byrne. For Byrne to lift the title he would need to score three wins while Sheils picks up less than four points. The battle will more than likely be over by Saturday as all that Sheils has to do to clinch the championship is finish higher than twelfth, even if Byrne wins the race. The battle for the runner up spot is far from settled however, as despite Sheils being out of reach David Haire could still overhaul Byrne to complete a remarkable recovery from an early season injury. The Superbike and Supersport Cup classes, for less experienced racers have also been decided with Frank Smith dominating Superbike and Conor Parkhill dominating Supersport. Of the supporting classes four championships are still to be decided. The Pre-Injection champion will be either Paraic Dooley or Colm Kearney, Paul Tobin will take the Supertwins series if he can pick up just one more championship point, the Sidecar battle is between Terry O'Reilly and Peter O'Neill and the Lightweight Supersport series can only be won by Thomas Gregory or Andrew Whearty. The final Adelaide Masters event of the season will see the return of the Grand Final for the first time since last Octobers' series finale. For this race the top Superbike and Supersport racers will come together for a non-championship race where prize money rather than points will be the goal. The riders will race for an overall prize fund with Cup riders also racing for their own additional prize fund. The Grand Final will take place after the championship races have been completed and should be a fitting end to what has been a great seasons racing. Admission to either day of the Adelaide Masters Series Finale is just €10 for adults with under 16's admitted free. All admission includes a complimentary event programme. Further information can be found on the championships' dedicated web site www.adelaidemasters.ie which includes news, information and video interviews with some of the series top contenders.

Mondello.TV finishes first year with International Broadcast
At the end of a very successful first year for Mondello.TV, the live streaming channel owned and run by Mondello Park, broadcast from the UK for the first time during October and is now looking forward to a bigger and better 2014. Mondello.TV began broadcasting in early 2013 and has streamed live footage from all Car Race meetings at the Kildare venue this year. Following on from this, the Mondello.TV crew travelled to Brands Hatch in Kent to cover both the Mondello Park based Patch Tyre Equipment Fiesta races and the Formula Ford Festival Final, one of the biggest single seater races in the UK and one which has historically been won by many drivers who went on to race in Formula One. Mondello.TV enjoyed over 5,600 live views during the Festival weekend and with the coverage now uploaded to the web site, more than 15,000 additional people have tuned in bringing the still growing viewing figures to over 21,000. Following the Brands Hatch trip, Mondello Park Managing Director John Morris expressed his satisfaction with Mondello.TV's first overseas event. “We are delighted with the reaction to the Mondello.TV coverage. We broadcast in HD, so the quality is excellent and in a one hour period on its first day the uploaded Formula Ford Final footage had over 300 views and looks like going viral. The reach of Live Streaming is unlimited and the beauty of the internet is that we can see what our viewers are watching and where they are viewing from”. Mondello Park have bigger and better plans for Mondello.TV in 2014 and allied to this, there are some very exciting and cost effective advertising opportunities available through the channel. These include prominent track side advertising, branded coverage of race events and even ads between races. To find out more about the benefits of becoming a partner of Mondello Park for 2014, call Leo Nulty on 087-6693946 or mail lnulty@mondellopark.ie.
