Stress Free Ride at the Kings Hall

Ride It Right the motorcycle safety initiative reports that it will be attending the 2011 Adelaide Motorcycle Festival at the King’s Hall, Belfast this Friday 11th February to Sunday 13th February 2011 and is offering a means of a stress free visit and a “Stress Free Ride”
While wandering through the show and stressing out on what to buy, you could take the stress out of your visit by visiting the Ride It Right stand first to get one of their free stress bikes.
Continuing the message of a “Stress Free Ride”, whatever you ride, wherever you ride, whenever you ride and why you ride, don’t ride when stressed.
As riders we know that we require full control when riding, not just our technical skills but full alertness on the job to control our bikes, as well as awareness of the road and other road users.
You can improve your technical riding skills by getting hooked on training through, a BikeSafe riding assessment, advanced training from IAM or RoSPA or post test training offered by many commercial riding schools and trainers.
However, technical skills need to tempered with what’s inside your helmet, the adrenaline rush and tales of “daring do” with your mates over coffee after your ride will not impress or even happen if you don’t reach the end of your ride in one piece.
Simon Hargreaves, Bike magazines Senior Editor recently wrote in the magazine, “It’s not a war – Riding is not an act of aggression – it is creative, full of beauty and grace, it can be passionate and wilful, but never aimless or uncontrolled. If you lose your temper, stop riding. If you’re depressed, don’t ride. Riding demands equanimity – serenity, calm, reason”.

No more is this attitude to riding required than racing on the roads. Shaun Anderson will be on the Ride It Right stand at various times during the show with his race bike on display.
Shaun has an impressive tally under his leathers, Ulster Senior Support Champion and Loanends winner, also winner of Harold Johnson trophy for most promising Ulster roads race newcomer.
Also 2nd Newcomer at Manx GP, Replica winner in Junior and best newcomer with 5th in Manx Senior earning Martin Smith Trophy for Best Newcomer Senior and Cromie McCandless for best Irish resident for the week.
3 Replicas and 2 Meritous Awards at his first attempt at the Manx and Ulster Support at his first year on the roads. M Eng in Motorcycle Engineering and Design.
