TV Stardom awaits Mondello Park Grid Girl Competition Winner
2010 Mondello Park 'Grid Girl Search' winner Karen Feeney is set for TV stardom as the presenter of UTV's coverage of the 'Adelaide Masters Series', Ireland’s biggest motorcycle racing championship. The opportunity has been presented to her by Mondello Park management due to her impressing them while representing the County Kildare track since winning last season’s competition.
25 year old Karen from Galway is a keen motorcycle racing fan, hill-climb competitor and race and rally school instructor, which led her to get involved in Mondello Park's Grid Girl Search last year. Having been voted as the fan and competitor’s favourite during 2010's motorcycle racing season, Karen walked off with an impressive prize package which included promotional work with Mondello Park and now the chance for TV stardom.
Karen will be part of the 'RPM Motorsport' team at all four Masters events during 2011 having recently passed an RPM screen test at the Bishopscourt circuit in County Down. Starting with the first event on April 2nd & 3rd Karen will have the once in a life time opportunity to be a major part of a sport which she has keenly followed for many years. The Galway girl will bring an excellent knowledge of motorcycle racing to the job, built up over many years following MotoGP and World Superbikes prior to getting involved in the local scene last year.
The UTV coverage of the Adelaide Master Series will consist of eight half hour programmes covering sixteen championship races split evenly between the Superbike and Supersport classes. While Karen will fill the role of presenter, highly experienced commentator Leo Nulty will provide the race commentary assisted by the expert insights of former International racer Jim Halligan.
Anyone looking to follow in Karen’s footsteps will be happy to hear that the 2011 Mondello Park Grid Girl Search is now underway. The competition will see one girl chosen, over the course of the 2011 season, to join the current Adelaide Masters Series Grid Girl team which is now down a member due to Karen’s promotion. Prospective entrants can find out more through the Mondello Park web site and Facebook pages.
The currently projected dates for screening of the Adelaide Masters on UTV are as follows;
14th & 21st April
2nd & 9th June
15th & 22nd September
27th October & 3rd November.
