Motorcycle Track Day Prices to Reduce for Advance Bookers
Over the past year Mondello Park has seen a significant reduction in the numbers participating in Motorcycle Track Days, previously one of the most popular areas of the circuits track activities. With this in mind, efforts to reduce the costs of participation have been made and two initiatives have now been put in place to try to give better value to customers.
The first initiative is to reduce the cost of participation for riders who pre-book and pre-pay for their Track Day. The maximum price of a full day will now be set at €140.00 for pre-booking with riders continuing to turn up on the day being charged €160.00. This new price structure, which means that the cheapest option is now down to €65, will be tested for the month of July and if the lower price yields a significant increase in bookings these prices will be extended beyond the end of the month.
The second initiative is the replacement of the old Loyalty day at the end of each year with a Loyalty Card. The main advantage of this is that riders will no longer be tied to taking their loyalty entitlement on a specific date, but instead will be able to use their points to further reduce the price of a track day at any time. Points will also be added to a Loyalty scheme members account when they purchase entrance tickets for Motorcycle Race events.
While Mondello Park is all too aware of the current economic circumstances and the calls from riders to reduce prices, this is not as straight forward as it may seem. One of the main reasons for the circuit’s difficulties in reducing the costs of track days stems from insurance issues.
While many people will be aware that Irish circuits attract higher insurance premiums that UK tracks this is further compounded by a number of active claims in respect of the circuits activities and the majority of these relate to Motorcycle Track Days. Although the circuit and its insurers are confident in defending any such claim, their very existence gives rise to increased premiums, as motorcycling is further loaded.
Mondello Park values all of its clients not least of all its Motorcycle Track Day participants who are some of its most loyal customers. It is hoped that the reduced prices will increase the numbers participating sufficiently to allow more track days to be run and the reduced rates to be continued beyond the month of July.
