The new Adelaide Masters Series season gets under way in less than two weeks time (Sat/Sun April 21st/22nd) with the continued backing of Motorcycle Insurance Specialists 'Adelaide Insurance' and the best line-up of its short history.
The series will expand to five events this season with a round at Bishopscourt in Count Down added to the four Mondello Park events. The expansion of the calendar, as well the championship's growing levels of competition and professionalism, and its expanding media and TV profile, have led to an increasing number of teams and riders committing to the series.
One of the biggest boosts for the series has been the announcement by JMF Millsport that they will bring their full team to all of the Adelaide Masters events. The team will be the first to use Ducati machinery in the series and they will have former British Junior Superstock champion Lee Johnston on board their brand new Ducati 1199 Panigale.
Among the other notable riders returning to the series is Waterford's Brian McCormack who is looking forward to a strong season following some excellent pre season testing form with his CDR machines. Athlone's Cody Nally, who will compete at the Masters alongside his British Superstock campaign, has also committed to tackling a full Masters campaign for the first time.
The Adelaide Masters Series tried and trusted format will continue into 2012 with the Superbike, Supersport and Grand Final races forming the focal point of the days racing. The feature races will take place between 14:00 and 16:30 culminating in the non-championship Grand Final where the top riders from Superbike and Supersport will compete for an increased prize fund. Further announcements regarding the championship and the line-up for the opening event are expected as Round 1 approaches.
